Around Saigon @ HCMC 13 - 16 Feb 2014

Almost a year past already, and now, I just get the great mood to share my photo with all of you. Yeah, of course, not all of you will get interested with my collection, however, I believe there is some of you will.

So, here are my collection of the view shot around Sai Gon city.

13 Feb 2014

Our flight almost at 2.00 pm by Malaysia Airlines. The flight almost 1 hour and 45 minutes from KLIA. Do take not, in Viet Nam, their hours is earlier an hour rather than us.

So, from the Thanh Soon Nhat Airport, we were taken to the Kingston Hotel, (3 star hotel), checked in and do take some rest before out first dinner in Saigon or HCMC.

***********************

For Vietnamese, I think that is their habit to take their meal at a little bit late. So for our dinner, we were gathered at lobby almost 8pm local time. Then, we were taken to Satay House for Malay cuisine.

Honestly, it totally spoiled my mood on vacation which I expected for some local cuisine. From Malaysia till Viet Nam, I was served by malay cuisine. Oh God.

What to do, everything is paid according to the package, have to enjoy the meal or hungry!

Statue of young lady outside Satay House.
The statue is really impress me. It is an art. I snapped it with permission of its owner. Beautiful...

The traffic a little bit clear right now maybe because a night getting late. However, I was warned by tour guide to aware of my belonging especially my DSLR. So, my warning to you guys, to always be careful wherever you have being.

14 Feb 2014

Our breakfast included in the hotel charge. Halal concept in Viet Nam of specifically in HCMC is means no pork. So, I advised you not to consume any of beef, chicken which we have to slaught first. To play save, I prefer for egg, porridge, fruits, and breads.

On this date, we went to Cu Chi Tunnel. Yes, as usual, we were requested to gather at lobby by 8am. The journey almost 2 to 3 hours, depends on how bad the traffic was. On the way, the tour guide, keep telling the story of Cu Chi Tunnel which recorded the pain and sorrow during Vietnam War against US in 1980's.

Then, returned from Cu Chi Tunnel, we were brought to explore the city by bus, and enjoy our lunch at Satay House once again, and Malay cuisine still.

Around the HCMC. How wonderful the landscape was.... Make me calm and relax.

There is a tree but I don't know what is it.

This building is used by Ho Chi Minh during his period ruling the HCMC.

The Old White House of Saigon or also known as Independence Palace
The Independence Palace (The Old White House)

Independence Palace is an important historical evidence, witnessed the transfer of power between Saigon government and the revolutionary government after the liberation army advanced into the city. Being similar to the White House, the place is where the Presidents of the Saigon Government lived and worked. Exploring the extraordinary architecture of the palace, the beautiful pieces of history follow you with every step you take in the palace. Imagine you walking around the place in which the peak of power of the South emerged!
Mosque
We went to the nearest mosque in HCMC to solat. We get back to the city almost at 4pm local time. I was too hunger. My lunch time frequently in between 12 - 2pm, but for the time I was in HCMC, I had it late.

Around the HCMC.

On our way to go to shop Baju Kurung, and telekung for sure. By this time, the traffic getting heavy due to locals are getting home from work.

Amazing right?

I was not so mad with shopping, therefor I had to wait for the group enjoy themselves. Luckily, I saw this crocodile. Actually belong to the boutique owner.

This is the local cuisine. I enjoyed this at Serai. Honestly it is too expensive here. In HCMC, halal food quite expensive. This pho costed me almost at RM20 each. You can go to Malaysia Road @ Jalan Malaysia @ Nguyen An Ninh Road to enjoy better price of this.

Beef Pho..... popular breakfast among Vietnamese. You should try.

This area have a shop outlet selling sport equipment at a cheaper price. Don't asked me about originality. But for me, the price is affordable and the quality is good.

Hi handsome boy. He learnt to walk.

Eletricity cable.

Bến Thành Market

Bến Thành Market is a large marketplace in central Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam in District 1. The market is one of the earliest surviving structures in Saigon and an important symbol of Hồ Chí Minh City, popular with tourists seeking local handicrafts, textiles, áo dài and souvenirs, as well as local cuisine.
