After quite so long never get involved in any of fitness activity, me get "boomed" with popularity of Bukit Keluang spectacular view from its peak. Awesome panorama which drive me mad become viral so fast.
Since it is located in my mother land Terengganu, how could I deny myself from being there?
With a simple planning during my Aidil Fitri break, I went there with my sibling, mom and 2 nieces.
Google maps is really good at giving direction. There was our first time to get there.
Bukit Keluang situated in Besut region, closed by to Kampung Raja, almost an hour journey from capital city of Terengganu and almost 2 hours journey from my village; Ajil which situated at border Marang and Hulu Terengganu.
Besut is a district which is situated at border of Terengganu and Kelantan, and locals speak by using Kelantanese dialect.
There are two mains activity that frequently do by visitors:-
1. Hiking; and
2. Beach activities.
My main target was hiking, so I bring no extra cloth. But my mom was doing well in her closet; Baju Kurung.
I told my mom to wear blouse and pant, but she wants to wear new cloth as Hari Raya still blooming and warming. Okay, whatever mom, as long as you enjoy the activity so much.
For this visit, we hire no tour guide. Actually, there is no compulsory for it. There are two start point for hiking, choose on your own. Besides that I am not sure either there is any tour guide available or not for hiking Bukit Keluang.
Distance for hiking almost 1 km and then walking on street to return to start point another km. Very easy and not so stressful for a beginner.
This is my little brother. We started our hiking by first start point; start from the beach. There are stair there but I warn you that the steps are vary in size. Watch your steps!
The slope for the beginning point also accelerate your blood circulation. Oh God... I don't know the degrees but I believe it is more than 45 and close to 70 degrees. Rope available but it is too challenging.
I used rope only in trek which I have no options, or in simple word " rope is the last alternative!"
So I avoid to use rope. I prefer to put my step on roots or any natural step formed by mother nature.
As you might see, this trek is clear. During raining, this trek will be a path of water flow. So, I should thank you Allah for this excellence bright day.
Nature steps from roots.
My mom..
Nobody can stop her from finishing her hiking. She really want to... So what to do unless gave her some motivational support.
Keep it up mom...
View around the trek.
These trees easily can be found at any forest closed to the sea.
Again, roots formation...
Finally, we get ourselves on the peak, or maybe it is more accurate to say "range of Peak of Bukit Keluang". Distance of the peak almost 1 km for hiking while total distance of the peak itself almost 3 km.
Local told me, the end of the peak is river mouth, Kuala Besut.
But none hikers from outside is going to hike that total distance since due to safety which is that is not so popular trek.
Amazing view from the my fist point of the peak.
Oh God, the trek brought me into the jungle back. Again I was surrounded by the green scenery and of course no air pollution.
But still if you are not lucky, some hikers which are very bad attitude smokes on their way and share that pollution with you.
Seriously, I hate it badly.
See..
The range of the peak of Bukit Keluang. Can you imagine the distance?
Still, there is no sign for us either we reach the top or not.
In my mind, I just imagined that I will return to the start point by following the same trek. So, when I got myself to the top, I believed it was the end point but still the path brought me deeper and deeper to the front.
Oh, my little two nieces were re-balancing their stamina.
One of them is suffering from light asthma. So she needs to get some break before continuing.
A good rest is helpful enough, she told me.
Scenery from the top...
Again as usual...enjoy the view guys...
Ohh, I cannot believe that I had seen this amazing view at my mother land Terenggau.
Wonderful Terengganu...
Foot of the hill from the top... Care of your steps...
Safety actually only individual concern, we should know ourselves very well compare to others, so anything that may drag you down or become not so secure, please avoid it at the first place.
So you will have no fingers to point at anyone. Cheers...
Another side of view...
Three islands....
In malay, we called this "Bunga Siantan". This is wild flower and I found it at the peak.
I used to play with it during my childhood.
Dragonfly...
A cloud of dragonflies made a show for welcoming us to their habitat.
Ngee... Awesome.
Finally we reached at the rest point. After been walking for almost an hour, waiting for my mom and my little nieces get recovered from their tiredness, and now, we were here for perfect rest and view.
Pictures are so important to record every single moment of life either nice or otherwise.
Awesome landscape...
wow....
This view drive me speechless...
This signage is a compulsory port for hikers especially for the first time to snap the picture.
Oh, there is "someone" looking at us..
Hi monkey...
It is normal to see monkey on your way. To be safe avoid yourself from feed them or insulting them. So far, they never get to close to human being or even interrupt anyone.
They just give you an eye...
Again and again.... I am going mad for this grateful view.
Remember to always put your safety at top priority. This peak is very high.
No matter how much you are mad at selfie, but remember you only have one soul to be kept for accompanying you to explore more and more this wonderful world.
Okay, now we reached the limit of the peak. We were moving down, no more sea view. What left for us, only the jungle.
See, they left me.
Grandmother and granddaughter always a very good companion ever.
From the middle to the top view...
Thick row of small trees.
I snapped the fruits there.. but it is not so clear... hmmm.
I don't know the name. But it was attracting me.
Welfie moment with nieces.
And of course, unforgettable, welfie with my iron lady, my mom.
On her half way, she decided to surrender and I left her. Earlier, I was waiting for her to ensure she always in my eye.
Once she confirmed me that she surrendered, so I left her. But amazingly, she didn't give up, slowly she walked alone and met us at the rest point.
Her face was shining due to her happiness reaching the top of hiking. And what she told me, this hiking reduce her knee pain.
Leaves...
Sprinkle root..
Sprinkle root or maybe tree hanging around...
This one look more awesome... It is look alike a noodle or sprinkling.
Finally we get down to the foot of the hill.
From this point to the our start point, we have to walk almost half an hour on roadside.
Actually every decision is on hikers, either to return via peak trek or never.
We chose not to return.
At the roadside, there is a stall selling coconut water at only RM1 per cup. Very blissful to have coconut drink on hot bright day.
Bye-bye guys... Enjoy the scenery...
Notes:-
1. Free entrance
2. No guide needed
3. Bring enough water especially on hot day to avoid dehydration.
4. Never leaved any of rubbish on the trek, we have to keep our environment and nature clean for all.
